Richie completes 1 year of playschool

It was just the other day Richie joined playschool. And he has already completed 1 year of schooling. Time passes so fast. Today Richie said to me before going to sleep, "Mama, I want to go to school". When I look back I realize how busy I got with life and the newborn Ronan that I just didn't have time to reflect on things. Ronan completes 7 months in a couple of days and Richie completed 3 years.

Richie had a makeover from a shy introvert kid to an extrovert one. His teacher said that he used to answer questions before anybody could and sometimes she had to tell him strictly to give a chance to others.

Richie learnt a lot of things in school. Some of the things Richie is good at are:
-can do coloring on his own.
-sings nursery rhymes well.
-can sing the National Anthem well.
-knows all the alphabets and numbers till 100,
-knows a spell 3 letter and 4 letter words.

Easter time is coming - Ronan is excited.

Easter is approaching and Ronan is all excited. He is looking forward to Easter eggs and Easter bunnies. :) I was searching for some good gifts for my kids. Amazon has a lot of trendy stuff. If you also are on a lookout to gift your near and dear ones, please check out these exciting stuff.

Ronan's behaviour during his bout of sickness

Ronan is 6.5 months old. The weather is acting crazy these days.Itz winter time but it is hot in the afternoons and looks like it will rain as the sun gets hidden by the clouds which say "Yes, we are going to pour down."
Ronan, Richie and I started taking evening walks just to have some fresh air. One of the cousins developed cold and as all the children play together Richie and Ronan too were affected. I treated Richie with expectorant and he seemed fine again, Ronan's cold didn't show up much until one morning when he started coughing and whizzing a bit. We took him to the doctor who gave him a dose of medicines. We thought he will be all right by the next day. But to our utter dismay his whizzing worsened, so much so that he could not breath properly. He was crying and was looking so tired, that I could not see him suffering.

He used to sleep for 10 mins and then wake up feeling choked. That whole night was terrible, with me and my mom-in-law taking turns holding him throughout the night. I was just waiting for the morning sun so that we could get him some good treatment. The child specialist told us that he is suffering from mild bronchitis and should feel better in a day or two after the intial dose is complete.

Today is the 2nd day and yes, Ronan is feeling much better. He has become playful and is responding well to the medicines. But one thing I must say. Ronan is very naughty. He knows when I come to give him medicines. I guess he smells them. ;) He keeps his mouth shut tight and does karate to throw the spoon or dropper down. He really drove the hell out of me. I tried mixing the medicine with honey but it was a big NO NO. He was like, "Mama, we are too smart not to understand which is medicine and which is not". Today his dada thought he will give a try and guess what, dada was in for a surprise. Inspite of me too holding Ronan he was just not ready to co-operate. But at last we succeeded.;)

What are your thoughts/experiences in taking care of children when they are sick? Did you face any difficulty?
Could you share your techniques of handling your child's behaviour?

Ronan is responding to his name

There are so many things which a child learns when he is growing up. One among them is responding when someone calls out their name. Ronan started recognizing his own name. He has just completed 5 months. Whenever Ma, Pa or we call out his name, he turns around and smiles.
He has this cute gummy smile and what makes it even more cute is that it looks crooked as his face is chubby.

Ronan's favourite pastime

When Ronan is in a playful mood, he loves to play with his hands and legs. Ma caught him putting both his legs in his mouth. He opens and clenches his fist and admires his lovely model like long nails (if we have forgotten to cut them).

He loves to makes noises and shouts loudly with happiness which can be heard far off in the kitchen too.

Another one of his favourite pastime is blowing raspberries/bubbles and making the sound "brooom, broom". When I imitate and join in his activity he smiles and does more. But I must say he is an expert at blowing bubbles. I am yet to succeed. ;)

Ronan and Dada share a special bond

Ronan and dada share a special bond. Ronan has a habit of getting up at the same time everyday.
He gets up and plays on his own. After sometime, when dada wakes up and says "hello" to him, he turns his face towards him and gives a broad smile. Then Ronan and dada share their stories with Ronan responding quite well in the conversation. He does "Ga, gee, goooo, wow, hiii" inorder to say he is understanding what dada says.

Dear Dada (who are reading this blog), do you also share such a special bond with your baby? Wouldn't you share your story with us too?
